Design & Comfort
Being received into our ears relatively soon after wearing the E2000C earphones from Final Audio, it has highlighted quite how similar both pairs are in terms of comfort level, where they become almost unnoticed after hours of listening. Furthermore, the aluminium body has a proven track record for us too. They stand up to day to day wear much better than plastic bodied earphones and resist being entirely destroyed if left in your back pocket. These also have superb end cable support to prevent stress. However, if you are someone who seeks complete peace of mind, being a more premium entry there’s more in the box than just a plethora of ear tips, and so a rather intriguing rounded silicone carry pouch/case comes to equip your earphones for total defence.
Audio Performance
Final are often obsessive with the balance and accuracy of their sound image. The E4000 earphones don’t escape this attention, having an increased investment in the dynamic drivers; housed rigidly within an aluminium body that completely eliminates reverberations or audible imperfections emitted from the impressive volume levels that these can attain. Speaking of which, towering and thumping audible productions, such as the cover of the ‘Luigi’s Mansion Theme’ song by 8-Bit Big Band, demonstrate the incredible ability of output: with energetic drums and full stereo ferocity from the wind instruments taking on a presence you’d expect to hear offered from over-ear headphones.
The superb bass makes the E4000 earphones entertaining and yes, it does mean they air on the side of mildly enthusiastic. This opposes the devout loyalty to the ambition of complete accuracy, as shown throughout the song ‘Drugs’ by UPSAHL, which also highlights the dazzling vocal posturing within a thick soundstage amongst the heft of the notably spacious instrumentals. Lower end frequencies carry the worthy mids and highs within such arrangements and are not wildly exaggerated. All this helpfully makes the Final E4000s a pair of earphones that will do justice to pretty much anything within your musical catalogue and at the same time can be relied upon for accuracy as IEMs (in-ear-monitors). Acoustic numbers need a mention as well, and again it’s the separation of vocals which has impressed our ears. Anything by Jack Johnson encompasses the soul and depth of the intended production, of which many cheaper and less capable earphones miss out on.
Verdict
Premium aluminium houses rock solid audio performances that won’t pale to reverberations under full volume. Not to neglect mention of an entertaining silky sound style which dissects audible elements to deliver eager clarity that will flatter your entire music library. Buy on Amazon
