Design & Comfort
We think the well built sleek matte black & silver aluminium housed E2000C earphones might just be the tiniest pair we’ve reviewed. Seriously, they almost vanish into the ear, so they are not only visually discreet but also boast an almost unbelievable level of comfort when worn for hours upon end. A single button remote with inbuilt microphone is supplied. We’re not overly fond of these remote designs as they lack the ability to be able to adjust volume with buttons - although you could use Siri to do this.
Audio Performance
What is different about the E2000C earphones is that they don’t emphasise the bass to provide the kind of exhilarating sound style which is fairly typical of earphones today. The almost total removal of emphasised ranges leads to a drier and more natural sound which can’t be said to be inferior to similar priced entries like SoundMAGIC E11 Earphones, yet this does make the Final E2000Cs much harder to compare as they have different agendas.
For a good chunk of our total listening time, our Final E2000C earphones have been plugged into a Nintendo Switch playing ‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’. It allowed us to learn that the stereo performance is strong enough to convey the realistic portrayal of the vast open world wilderness and that they are a good pair of gaming earphones. And despite the aim of balanced ranges, the sheer enormity of the games many soundtracks are still well served with sharp highs, a tame bass and a pleasant mid range that could do with being a tad larger. On a pure musical front the acoustical (a genre that lends itself to these) track ‘Couch Potato’ by Jakubi highlights the stocky vocals, with the 6.4mm drivers surprising us with evident spacing between the gentler drums and guitars within the background. However, if you take a really bass heavy song like ‘Go!’ by will.i.am, you can hear the very soul of it isn’t lit up without the fiercer low bass ranges and so compromises are a reality when it comes to this style of audio tuning.
Verdict
Final E2000C Earphones offer a drier sound style and produce an impressive listening experience from the tiny 6.4mm drivers, keeping the frequencies mostly in line and absolutely excelling where acoustics/vocals are concerned. So for ears that don’t want emphasised bass and also a pair of earphones that won’t break the bank, these are certainly compelling. Buy on Amazon
