This product comes from a brand we were previously not familiar with, that being RAVPower. The basic ethos of the company is to bring to market charging solutions which deliver value. An enticing aspect on paper, and this pocketable model, the Element 10400mAh, is a brilliant example of the level of value; with an associated price on Amazon of £16.99 in the UK and $22.99 within the USA. And it includes two flat USB cables with adapters in the box. To put this into perspective the similarly specced Xtorm Power Bank 11000 we've previously reviewed has a price tag of £66.99 - four times as much.

Charging

The capacity of 10400mAh sounds like a decent amount of juice. From our testing we managed to fully charge an iPhone 5 (applicable to the 5s & C) twice and an iPad once, with very little energy to spare. So this amounts to a total real world capacity of roughly 9000-9500mAh, which is very efficient for the price. When we compare the similarly specced and mildly more efficient Xtorm Power Bank 11000, which has a capacity of 11,000mAh and we've had for nearly two years, the true value the RAVPower Element 10400mAh is demonstrated. The Element 10400 has two USB 2.0 ports, one with a 5V/2.1A output for your iPads and tablets and there's a slower less powerful 5V/1.1A for smartphones and other devices with smaller batteries. However, the faster port is completely safe and compatible to use with iPhones. When a device is connected via USB the RAVPower Element 10400mAh automatically begins charging and when a device is removed it stops and it does support the charging of two devices at once.

Design, Build & Features

The RAVPower Element 10400mAh plastic body is solid (overall weight of 350g) and reasonably durable, but does get very dirty as it has a gloss finish. Even though the price is minimal the design has some notes of style, and does also incorporate a useful four bar LED display showing the remaining battery charge via one press of a button.

For the the price this hefty and efficient battery pack offering from RAVPower brings a wealth of value with it.
