Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino Review
This is actually a Starbucks beverage we've been enjoying frequently for many years. It's the Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino and after a quick Google search for the drink we've noticed not much has been said about it. So we thought we'd give you an in-depth review.
Starting off with its appearance; it is slightly browner than that of a standard Mocha Frappuccino. It can be served with or without sweetened whipped cream and in some parts of the world it's then topped with dark chocolate curls. In the UK the chocolate curls aren't included unfortunately. This Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Frappucino was served by the splendid Truro City Centre Victoria Square Starbucks and we opted for the Venti size.
The texture is very heavy and creamy, just how we like our Frappuccinos. We usually have this made with full fat milk which is the default offering but can be made with skimmed milk, semi skinned milk (light) and soy milk to reduce the number of total calories. The overall combination of flavours is actually less sweet than that of the standard Mocha version though. The peppermint is soft and infuses the mocha coffee flavour. It doesn't taste like a cheap toothpaste mint either, and doesn't become sickly even from a Venti sized serving. The mocha sauce is chocolatey and balances perfectly with the coffee flavour. This sauce is the forefront flavour within the recipe and is utterly divine.
The mint and chocolate mocha flavours intertwine brilliantly and produce a delicious and very refreshing drink. The mint only helps highlight the taste and leaves a pleasantly fresh minty feeling in the mouth after drinking. The combination of caffeine and chocolate from the mocha is a definite energy booster too. We felt very awake and alert after consuming this peppermint version.
Overall the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino is actually one of our all time favourite Frappuccino renditions. It's the most refreshing of the Frappuccinos and is full of spring loaded revitalising flavour. We profoundly recommend that you try it for yourself if you enjoy the Starbucks Mocha, Coffee or Espresso Frappuccino blended drinks.
